Ultimate Car Rentals Ghana kicked off their Founders Day celebrations in impressive style with a commanding 4-1 victory over Connect 97.1 FM in the debut corporate games match on Monday, September 22nd, 2025, at the Fijai Senior High School Park.
The game got underway with Ultimate Car Rentals showing confidence and control. Our midfield dictated the tempo, while the defense held firm against Connect FM’s early attempts. In the 18th minute, a swift counterattack led by UCR’s right wing resulted in the opening goal by Bernard Arthur, a sharp finish from the edge of the box that put them 1–0 up.
Connect 97.1 FM responded with urgency, pushing forward and trying to exploit gaps. However, Ultimate Car Rentals’ goalkeeper, Ignatius Baidoo fluffed his grip on the ball leaving the oncoming attacker with an empty net which resulted to a 1 – 1 as at 25th minute.

Ultimate Car Rentals Ghana restored the lead with a crucial tap-in inside the 18-yard box to end the first half 2 – 1.
Coming out stronger after the break, UCR added the cushioning another clinical finish following a howler from the shot-stopper. The third goal was added just before the hour mark, taking advantage of a defensive miscommunication.
Despite being 3–1 down, Connect FM showed tenacity but not enough to trouble the resolute central pair of Sylvester Ghartey and Benjamin Mensah.
